It will officially be released on 26 november and soon thereafter\u00a0be available on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Peoples-Pornography-Surveillance-Chinese-Internet\/dp\/1841504939\" target=\"_blank\">amazon.com.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1417\" href=\"http:\/\/libidot.org\/blog\/2011\/11\/1412\/393255_10150437573076800_198395991799_10450799_32046590_n\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1417\" title=\"393255_10150437573076800_198395991799_10450799_32046590_n\" src=\"http:\/\/libidot.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/393255_10150437573076800_198395991799_10450799_32046590_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile I have signed a contract with the Hong Kong\u00a0\u00a0publisher\u00a0\u00a0UP publications for a Chinese translation of the book. The\u00a0editor Chak\u00a0interviewed me about the\u00a0history of banned books for their monthly magazine <em>Life and Reading Culture<\/em>.\u00a0 I talked about the 1960s\u00a0ban of\u00a0Jean Genet&#8217;s books\u00a0in the USA and said &#8220;I just hope that\u00a0my book will not be banned in China.&#8221; I asked him if he thought it would be safe in China. He said he was not sure and pointed to the stuffed animal\u00a0on my desk, the Chinese anti-censorship animal\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grass_Mud_Horse\" target=\"_blank\">grass mud horse\u00a0<\/a>(ca0 ni ma)\u00a0. The problem would be the horse. Now I need to think about a horse-less version of People&#8217;s Pornography.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For many years I have been asked to censor my publications and take out all kinds of sexually explicit images or vulgar language.
