It is snowing outside and\u00a0I\u00a0am chilling in a very charming renovated courtyard hotel lit up with red lanterns and hidden way in one of the old hutong.\u00a0 There is\u00a0a major feast outside with\u00a0home-lit firecrackers\u00a0and loud blasts to honor the last day of the Chinese new year.\u00a0I have a\u00a0large bed with a tea-table tray on\u00a0my left side\u00a0and an even\u00a0larger antique bed with red\u00a0silk curtains and red lining on the right.\u00a0I was told that it is\u00a0the wedding suite and the room with the best <em>feng shui.<\/em>\u00a0I \u00a0long for Peking duck\u00a0but the hotel tells me that all the restaurants will be packed tonight&#8211;as it the end of the Chinese New Year and also Chinese\u00a0Valentine&#8217;s day. They advised me to have Peking duck tomorrow.\u00a0\u00a0But I just cracked open a\u00a0beer and very soon I am heading outside.
